Introduction

Introducing myself.

Hello people my name is Donell Usher, my friends used to call me Nelly for short until it got old. Im 18 years old and I would like to think of myself as a very open guy, no matter the circumstances I always find the good in things. 

Hobbies.
I’m always open to try new things but in most recent years i’ve always found myself spending a lot of my time behind a commuter screen. I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT! Whenever all the lads have some free time we can find some enjoyment from from a night out or some gaming!


 Future expectations.
What i’m looking forward to the most is the so called “college experience”, making new friends and exploring my course. My interest in gaming definitely influenced what college course I chose, I’m extremely ecstatic to start using a camera for one of my modules. This is amazing to me because it’s something new, thrilling and educational.

I’m really liking the enthusiasm and energy the lectures are bringing to school, it not only settles my nerves but it’s also gonna help make learning fun!

Furthermore I have great expectations for my module Visual  Creativity where I will learn how to sketch and draw to a professional but innovative style. It requires a lot of creative insight with a keen sense of art although this may all be learned over time.

In addition to Visual creativity I find myself extremely indulged with Web development, not only does it sound interesting but it’s perfect for me. In this module I have high hopes it can help me learn new IT skills as swell as bring me closer to game designing.


Conclusion
Now that i’m in college I have so much to look forward too. In the next couple of years i’m hoping to strengthen the skills I need for my future and meet tons of different people and obviously try new things!

 Peer review  This weeks peer review tasks were interesting to write comments about the article was of use to me,  Feedback . However it was too long and took me too long to even skim through, I did try to use different reading techniques. From my first blog I’m trying to learn how to properly phrase my sentences and use different methods of writing. I learned that commas aren’t the only thing I can use to separate my sentences, for example brackets/commas; and dashes- may be used to separate sentences. This is a method used to make your sentences look and sound better; it adds flair.  Introduction As of late I read an article about active reading and how the educational system breads children from a young age to get familiar with it. Active reading is the process of asking questions while reading or analyzing  any written piece of text, however there are two views of active reading. One study (done by Kintsch and van Dijk) indicated that active reading is something that can be foreseen by thoroughly examining the text structure.  However others thought differently, they claimed that there are four factors that influence the effectiveness of active reading and those are what material are you covering, how you plan to learn the material you have read, how much time it takes for you to learn what you've read and the characteristics of the learner.
