Introduction

Hay, have we just met? My name is Donell and i'am a fresh college student currently studying at TU Blanchardstown and looking forward to whats meant to be the best four years off my lifetime. I'm eighteen years old and turn nineteen in December, I live in Wicklow so commuting is a pain in the a## and roughly takes me two and a half hours one way. My family consists of me, my Granny, my Mom and my brother, I never got to know my dad but I know hes always watching over me.

Hobbies

All my best friends play video games but out of all of them I definitely adore it the most, I love the excitement and joy the developers bring to the community. When a fully committed team buts heads and dedicates themselves to concoct a well thought of game not only brings joy to hardcore gamers but also creates a very diverse and unique community. I like going to social gatherings, meeting new people and having a good time and this can be achieved by going out or some gaming.

Fresh start

I'm still adjusting to the new student life, walking around like a headless chicken, travel time and of course I'm still trying to make more friends. I don't usually have a problem talking to people as I normally like to initiate most conversations. I'm so looking forward to the academic year as I know there are gonna be a couple challengers but with help, devotion and good 'ol elbow grease well crash through them with no hassle. I'm quit pleased with the modules that my course entails because everything almost seems like it was tailored towards my enjoyment.  

Future plans

They say get a job that you'll know you'll definitely enjoy, well my current future plans would be to work on a team that guess what... DESIGNS GAMES! It's what I enjoy and its one of my current plans in life. I would also like to do some modelling because fashion is something special and It's amazing how I can express my self through cloths. I have a feeling that its gonna be a ball and it's so exciting that ill be doing this with new friends.

The image above is too exposed because I made to ISO 400 so the camera let in too much light.


After adjusting the ISO to 200 the camera took in a little less so the majority of the photo is clear but the clouds are still so bright.


This photo is over exposed and a little blurry because I changed the zoom of the lens.


This photo is also a little under exposed as I didn't take in the perfect amount of light.

 Peer review  This weeks peer review tasks were interesting to write comments about the article was of use to me,  Feedback . However it was too long and took me too long to even skim through, I did try to use different reading techniques. From my first blog I’m trying to learn how to properly phrase my sentences and use different methods of writing. I learned that commas aren’t the only thing I can use to separate my sentences, for example brackets/commas; and dashes- may be used to separate sentences. This is a method used to make your sentences look and sound better; it adds flair. Introducing myself. Hello people my name is Donell Usher, my friends used to call me Nelly for short until it got old. Im 18 years old and I would like to think of myself as a very open guy, no matter the circumstances I always find the good in things.  Hobbies. I’m always open to try new things but in most recent years i’ve always found myself spending a lot of my time behind a commuter screen. I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT!  Introduction As of late I read an article about active reading and how the educational system breads children from a young age to get familiar with it. Active reading is the process of asking questions while reading or analyzing  any written piece of text, however there are two views of active reading. One study (done by Kintsch and van Dijk) indicated that active reading is something that can be foreseen by thoroughly examining the text structure.  However others thought differently, they claimed that there are four factors that influence the effectiveness of active reading and those are what material are you covering, how you plan to learn the material you have read, how much time it takes for you to learn what you've read and the characteristics of the learner.
